Before Hazel came along, I had eight years with four men. I developed a love for pastimes I never imagined! When we would have family wrastlin’ matches, I became THE PIT EATER, and I heartily gobbled the pits of my opponents. While playing outside I became NINJA MAMA, and I fared pretty well at fending off my little enemies, if I do say so myself! Perhaps one my very favorite times with my family though is competing in our Crazy 8’s Tournaments….
I had never played Crazy 8’s until I was introduced to it by my darling and children. We get around the table and battle it out for the tournament belt~and OH is there boy banter all around! “KISS THE MUSCLE!” can be heard, as well as other hollerin’s, the likes of which are *very* unladylike. I think there’s also a lot of shirtlessness (not from Maw!). And the belt? Well, it’s a piece of cardboard in the shape of a wrastlin’ belt, held together with orange duct tape. Not the good kind either~it keeps coming apart! LOL! There is one piece of it across the front that gets the champion’s name on it in dry erase marker. I won the very first ever tournament, but the belt wasn’t ready yet. I’ve never won again, so I’ve never gotten to see “The Mawler” scrawled across it. The other contestants are: The Crusher (who’s had the belt 3 times), Big Al (never had it), P-Box (never had it), and The Dadanator (who isn’t cooperating enough right now to tell me his new name and record of wins!).
We just checked the belt, and the name plate’s been STOLEN! (Okay, so it probably fell off…) OH it’s ON now! Y’all better be rootin’ fer me tonight! (((((HUGS))))) sandi
