Okay, so I didn’t get my Household Management Binder completely done. It’s alright! We began our new cleaning routines this week, and while it will take more than a week for it all to become shiny and new, we can see a GREAT BIG difference already!
Next week we will slowly start back to school, at the advice of my Dizzle. She is SO RIGHT! but then again, she ALWAYS is. I tell you she knows everything! We will start by adding our readings to our new cleaning schedule next week, and continue to add copywork and math and everything else weekly from there. This is HARD for me! I always wanna dive right in and conquer it all TODAY! but it is GOOD advice, because we never stick to the schedule when we attack it that way.
My Allen was such an encouragement from the very first day as he went around saying, “I LOVE this new schedule! I only hope we will STICK to it this time!” Mouths of babes, huh? He loves going to my binder and opening to his list of daily chores. He does them on his own and then is FREE to enjoy some “masterly inactivity”! My two youngest boys have pitched in well without complaint. Knowing what’s expected of them each day up front has been a huge help in this, I’m sure.
As for Little Miss Hazel, the poor gal has been a BEAR for a good month now. She’s getting FOUR molars in at once! NO WONDER! She still has enjoyed wiping things down with her little cloth. ~smile~

That sounds like a good idea. I am not very good at sticking with a plan. Drives my older daughter crazy. She is going to be the organizer of the family very soon. I’m still working on putting toys away…which is not the middle of the floor…with my toddlers! aaaaaaaaaaa
Cleaning?! That is no fun.
Kids just seem to thrive on schedules. They now what is expected of them. They can succeed and contribute to the family.
Why is it so hard for us grownups to stick to schedules? I find it near impossible.

I love you! :-*
I found the natural speller on amazon.com new for 14 dollars! So I ordered it yesterday!
Hoping it is good. I will let you know.

My 5 year old son has ALWAYS done better when he’s been on a STRICT schedule….even when he came home from the hospital. Used to drive my husband (now EX-husband) NUTS, because he’d want to go bowling or something that started at 7P.M., and Malachi was ALWAYS ready to go to sleep for the night by that time….My thought to that was “why keep the child out late when he’s ready for bed?” We had MANY arguments over me staying home in the evenings to get Malachi to bed. Malachi is STILL like that today….does SOOOOOO much better on a schedule!!! We are getting a schedule and routine established for our home-schooling as well as bedtimes and such. I KNOW if we get one established for the schooling, the rest of our day will fall in to place. Week #1 of school for us….and we did GREAT!!!
Just a random babbler….*L*….Have a good evening!!!
Errr…. you have a Household Management Binder? Wow!
I can’t get my toddlers to potty train together, let alone a schedule. LOL!
ohhh…I would love for you to post your schedule. I’m seem to be addicted to lists and schedules. At least having them, following them…well. But we are working out our new school/cleaning/office schedule too. I just feel like I’m doing alll things fair and nothing really well. Have a great night.
Hi Sandi,
You left a comment at my blog last month on my “Drifting Too Far From The Shore” Post. I’m sorry that I’m just now replying. Life’s been crazy lately, although getting better.
I’ve been working on a Home Management Binder and a new schedule, too. I was going to post my schedule to my blog but can’t figure out how to post a table. Oh well! LOL
I noticed that you like dulcimers. My dad has made a few of them. They’re very sweet instruments. I’m not very good at playing though, probably because I never practiced. LOL
Hope your new school year goes well. We’re starting “back to homeschool” on Tuesday.
Andi
Sandi,
Your sweet card arrived today–thank you! So glad you like the recipe booklet.
I’ll have to look into that household management binder–sounds like a helpful resource!
