And I just can’t even believe it. WHAR did the summer go? As I sit here I am listening to the cicadas humming~OH how I love their singing! All too soon it won’t be heard now….
We have had a really fabulous two weeks. My Home Management Binder is still being written, but it is BLESSING US already! Last week we began mastery of our cleaning routines. We’ve added our homeschool readings this week, and I also worked out a monthly menu. What a help it will be to have a plan! and my darling will really enjoy not having the same meal more than once a month. I am kind-of in awe of just how smoothly it’s going… It’s so much more peaceful already! OH PLEASE let it last, LORD!
I have thrown a little of FlyLady in the mix, however I’m not a *strict* follower. With my foot hurting, I’m not so keen on wearing shoes unless I hafta. I also love keeping my sink shiny, but I don’t really care if it’s dried out. Having A dish in the sink doesn’t kill me either, so I haven’t made space for a separate container under the sink (not having a dishwasher and all).
Just a reminder that this weekend is Grandparents’ Day! We all enjoyed making cards today~I am making them for my Grandparents (meaning the “Greats”), and the children are making them for theirs (meaning my parents). ~smile~

I am trying to get htere but it seems a long way off. I used to be so organized, too!
~tee hee~
I’m glad not everyone else follows that “get dressed down to your shoes! bit.
I was introduced to FlyLady at a ladies retreat and while I was disappointed we didn’t cover spiritual matters I still got some ideas from her and bought her book (and have occasionally logged on to her site when I’ve decluttered to add my decluttered weight as it goes out the door to the landfill or wherever). I remember blinking over the shoe comment. My GRANDmother would have agreed whole heartedly, because she believed that wearing shows kept a ladies feet ladylike (and I rather think I was born with the wrong feet for that anyway, so why bother?) but I’ve always, ALWAYS been relieved to take mine off — especially in summer!
Blessings!
Sure I would love to get some bars. I am still in college so I love anything that is free.
BTW based on your comment I must ask, are you looking into adoption too?
The eagle has landed. It just landed!!
Earlier today I was pondering going back to our schedule. We’ve had a few arguments about who goes first when. An updated schedule would take care of all that, and I just might get MY chores done.

Hi sweetie,
I’m so glad to hear that your home management binder is working out so well for you. I keep “tweaking” mine and it never gets done! I’m putting in my new homeschool schedule now (we start tomorrow) and then hopefully I can use it even more!
I am a Fly Lady too (well, Fly baby) but I don’t do it all either. I think the whole point is to change things to make it work best for you and your family!
Hugs to you,
Sherry
Oh, I am so glad you reminded me of Grandparents Week…Will have to have the kids make cards…Art class..*L*
Thanks for the Grandparents Day reminder. I am working on a menu plan too. But I am always trying new recipes so I have decided to compile everything in a notebook. (Again, using our ProClick binder!)
I am actually more comfortable with flip flops/sandals inside the house. Well… it makes me a little taller, that’s why. And under 5 ft, I could certainly use that! lol
You and Amanda are so funny.
Sandi, it’s been too long since I stopped over–howdy from the Lone Star State! I’ve missed you, and I’m so glad that things are well your way. I popped in to several of my favorite blogs just to say hi and wish you the best over the school year starting (assuming you’re starting now). God’s richest blessings to you.
Sandi,
I am loosely doing my schedule too, but I am reserving the right to rearrange it and clean a dirty room if I am supposed to be doing zone cleaning in an area that looks okay to me. I also reserve the right to hold off on laundry when I don’t feel like doing it ~ Oh, and if you want to know where my laundry is… it is wet in the washer or wrinkling in the dryer. A control journal really does nothing to fix the brain!
