…only to come to blogdom and smile at the kindnesses of sooo many! *THANK Y’ALL!* for being sooo NEAT! I wanted to give y’all a crochet update of course, ‘cuz that makes me happy….
I have completed two dishcloths~the second is this one in a multi-colored yarn, so you can’t see the texture as well, but I loved the pattern! I have completed three granny squares for SAS~two traditional and a daisy wheel. I plan to make another traditional and this one and this one. The fancy squares have been THE BEST learning exercises for me in trying to learn to read patterns and practice again and again and again and again~LOL! I’ve also learned that I don’t hafta crochet so tight~it actually looks better if I just ease up a bit.
My birthday was BEAUTIFUL! Though at first I was a little disappointed that some of you didn’t want to enter my contest~LOL! SHAME ON Y’ALL! It’s picked up a bit though~please come on out of lurkdom and make my day! ~smile~ Anyway, my 9yo Allen got up early to decorate and make breakfast. Isn’t that soooo sweet? Later we made a peanut butter cake together, topped with crushed Reese’s cups. MMMMMM!
I always have big plans for my birthday monies, and this year was for big homeschool items. On that list was Preston’s speech program which came yesterday. He is SO EXCITED! So what else have I done with it? I took the children to the coffee shop that day, got a little yarn for SAS and dishcloths to crochet for Christmas presents, got a small plastic toy bin for each child, and I still hope to print and comb-bind our Math program and possibly buy a history tape set I’ve wanted for years. Okay, and I will confess that I frivolously did get one bag of those black Lindt balls…. (((((HUGS))))) sandi
P.S. I got great loot from family and friends! My Dizzle sent me a book I’ve been wanting forever: REAL LEARNING: EDUCATION IN THE HEART OF THE HOME, and a calling card since we no longer have long distance and our phone is still messing up from summer storms (we cannot always receive calls but can call out). Vicki offered free yarn for the price of shipping, and it arrived on my birthday! Yesterday I got an unexpected package from my Mom filled with treasure and PICS! OH I LOVE IT! So yeah, it’s been a pretty fat birthday! I guess I might as well tell all so y’all will REALLY know me, but I LOVE “The Office”. I’ve never wanted a show on DVD before~save like, “Little House on the Prairie”, and “The Office”. My darling got me Season 2 for my birthday, and OH have I been laughin’ and laughin’ and laughin’ myself silly! YAY!

Hi Sandi! I just wanted to let you know that I often read your blog and get much enjoyment out of it. You really have a kind spirit, and great humor! Keep up the wonderful posts
AND I’ll be waiting for some pictures of you finished projects- I’ve got my pompoms ready to cheer with!!
I must’ve been NAK, because I meant to tell you, Amy, that your comment really did help to make my day!!!! *THANK YOU!* (((((HUGS))))) sandi
The “Office” is hysterically funny!
The next time I want to spend birthday or Christmas money on others I am gonna direct my hubby here. He hates it when i spend gift money on anything but myself. I can’t seem to convince him that sharing it is what truly blesses me and brings me joy! That is the bigger gift to me. Now i have support!
SURELY you give me WAY too much credit! It’s more out of necessity than desire, really it is! LOL! (((((HUGS))))) sandi
Okay… once again your blog has me LOL!! I love your honesty here. Leave it to life to make us smile. I, too, will be waiting for pictures!
i somehow missed out on itbeing your birthday! happy belated birthday. your yarn went into the mail today, and they said it should arrive saturday. i guess that means it will arrive if there are no storms between washington and virginia? we really do live on opposite sides of the country. enjoy your yarn and send pictures of what you do with it.
Sandy, can’t remember what exactly I wrote, but sure, share the whole thing:-) any type of publicity I can get is great!! We have $19.20 made so far:-)
happy belated birthday by the way!!
I’m glad you were able to get so much for others’ needs and yet still have some things just for you.
Thanks for your comment. It was really nice to ‘have you over’ on my blog!
Ciska
We have the speech program for Little Bit, haven’t used it yet, it looks great. Gonna get to it soon. We must, his speech still needs lots of work.
Now that it’s cooler outside, I’m working on Bubba’s afgan (only been workin on it for 3 years– gonna get it done this fall though). Then I have to make some dishcloths, and want to make a snood.
I’m officially at wordpress now– hsb is still actin up. Is there an easy way to transfer archives?
Also, have you heard from Melanie (Pinaymom) lately? She’s seemed to fall off the face of the earth. I don’t have a current phone number.
Now that I’ve written a letter in your comments I’ll wish you many, many blessings and farewell.
Christine
