Crochet can be used to touch the lives of sooo many, so I’d like to list needs and charity organizations here that cherish your craft. As I start this page, I am just blown away by the kindesses of others in helping to meet the needs of those around them! What a blessing to cross paths with such INCREDIBLE people! I’d also like to encourage those who are new to crochet, as making and donating granny squares is one of the very best ways to learn. It’s how I did! ~smile~ *THANKING YOU!* (((((HUGS))))) sandi
Caps for Brain Surgery~After living through her own experience with Chiari and discovering this need, Keesha provides patients of brain surgery with crocheted caps. Leave her a comment at her blog or e-mail her at keesha(underscore)b(at)yahoo(dot)com to help. I am so in awe here that I don’t even know what else to say….
Compassionate Creations~Anyone whose life has been affected by sexual assault or abuse is welcome to crochet or knit a scarf which in turn will be given to a victim of sexual violence when they enter the hospital for emergency treatment or at their initial meeting with a counselor at the rape crisis center.
Crochetville has an entire Crochet for Charity section in their forums. There are links to help organizations as well as requests for individuals that are experiencing a hard time. LOTS of opportunities for GIVING!
Jessica’s Charity~This gal found a need in her area and is single-handedly trying to fill it! What a vision! Click on over to help in providing blankets for the elderly as well as providing blankets/hats/scarves to those less fortunate and comfortghans for children who are victims of abuse.

Love to crochet, have been crocheting for 40+ years. People love the hand-made personal touch. I have a friend who lost much of her hair from cancer treatments; she’s in recovery. I found a pattern for stylish head coverings and am sending her 3 different colors to match whatever she may be wearing.
Could you possibly share that site for stylish headcoverings with us? That’s AWESOME! (((((HUGS))))) sandi
So many worthy causes and so little time. I often wish I was a much faster stitcher so I could contribute more. Of course if I stayed off the blogging sites and talking to hubby via the internet i’d get more done.
Sandi – This is WONDERFUL! I’ve recently been bitten by the crochet bug and have been making blankets for charity. Starting this month, I’ll be working on hats, scarves and mitts to donate to our area’s Coalition for the Homeless. I’ve never done hats or mitts before and am anxious to give it a whirl. It’s such a great feeling to actually CREATE something for someone who needs it!!!!!
Ooooooo, I love to crochet, and I have not done it for such a long time… now I am going to have to start clicking on all of these links and go exploring…. fun fun!!
